can I suggest some ideeas? the eagle draw is very nice but why not an "romanian" eagle?(old emblema of valachia perhaps?)
why not "lupul dacic"? why not a portrait of decebal, burebista, an ww2 romanian soldier?
you know what it will look very nice? the eagle from koson!!!

These two are iconic symbols of Wallachia and Moldavia, parts of modern Romania.

the eagle from koson!!!

I don't think this is a symbol of Romanian coins. The others are nice motifs for the euro coins.

Eagles have been used by many nations as a symbol,is very old,but who use it first is hard to say...!!!The ideea with Decebalus on an euro romanian coin is a great one.

I agree with you cristoph, but can you tell me another similar eagle with the one from koson-i specificaly refered to that eagle- and under my knowledge koson is prety specific for dacians so "it fits"! doesn t it?

I remember that Mr. Preda have wrote in the last edition of the book " Enciclopedie de numismatica antica in Romania", that the koson maybe a medieval coins fake and he don't wrote anything in that book about them. I'm not intrested by this period of numismatic and romanian history and I don't know much about this subject.

Anyway, that coins are made after republican roman coins and I think if we want a simbol for the romanian euro coins is better to chose the wolf-flag of geto-dac tribes.

I've let miself carried away by eagles and I totally forgot that koson is just an republican imitation coin.
