World Plastic Money editia a 5-a
Am gasit pe internet aceasta stire despre publicarea editiei a 5-a a World Plastic Money. Ma bucura faptul ca o bancnota romaneasca este publicata pe coperta acestei editii.

I would like to point out that the official name of our country is not Republic of Romania, but simply Romania.
Also, the area of the country is 238391 sq. km, not 237500 sq. km; the value 237500 is old.
For the first 10 lei polymer note (KB 82 variance 1), it is stated that the serial number starts with 05. There are notes that start with 06, 07 and (probably) 08 too.

kb82 issued 2006 and 2007 ? please give a scan from this issued !
The design is identical (the date written is still july 1st 2005), but the serial number indicates the year the note was actually printed. I checked my wallet and I have a note with serial number 063A.
The same stands for all the other Romanian notes. I have a 50 lei note that starts with 078D.
About the area, various sources state 237500, but the correct value is the one I mentioned. It also appears in Romanian school books.

As suggested by Yu_L.Yan in the above message, I will try to translate in English the information on the page he mentioned. There, the way the serial number on the Romanian polymer notes shows the printing year is described.
Basically, starting from 2001, the first two digits in the serial number indicates the year in which the note was put into circulation. It is not clear (at least not to me) what was tha case with the notes released in 1999 and 2000, but since 2001, the rule is simple:
notes with serial number starting with 01 were printed in 2001
notes with serial number starting with 02 were printed in 2002
and so on
Therefore, you would need a lot of scans to see the notes in each of the years and I do not see the point. The design was identical, the only indication of the actual year being the serial number. I did a quick search on eBay and found this note that has a serial number starting with 07, therefore it was put in circulation in 2007. I guess there are lots of notes on eBay with pictures that show that all values ranging from 01 to 08 were used on the Romanian polymer notes. And the 09 notes should appear soon
The system is somehow similar to the one used for Euro banknotes where the letter in the serial number indicates the country where the note was printed.

Our coleague Polymat needs the scans with different prefixes to be sure that for each denomination, notes with these prefixes were issued in fact.
He needs correct and accurate information to be used on his site and in his catalog.
I suggest to our coleagues to search in their collections and to try to collect for him all scans possible with all prefixes used for all denominations.
In this way by our common effort we can put together all images.
